Text messages relate only to a Health Coverage Map result that you chose to save. There are two kinds, each with its own consent step, plus service confirmations:
Sent only when you select "Text message" as your delivery channel, enter your own phone number, and tap "Save". One message per save request.
A separate box, unchecked by default: "Also remind me if the rules or key dates change." Only if you check it, we send occasional alerts about your saved result: when a public rule affecting it changes, when a key date affecting it changes, or as a personal reminder shortly before a key date that affects your result (for example, an enrollment deadline). Typically a few messages per year.
Replies to actions you take yourself — for example, confirming your unsubscribe after you reply STOP, or confirming a request you made about your saved record.
Nothing else: no marketing or promotional messages, and no messages unrelated to your saved result. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Texting is optional and not a condition of using the service.
Consent is collected on the "Save your map" screen inside the Health Coverage Map application, shown after a user completes the free coverage check. The application is opening in stages and is currently available to a limited pilot group; the full opt-in flow is therefore documented here, with the exact form reproduced verbatim and screenshots of the live interface below.
